DIY: How about using empty "Toilet Paper Rolls"...?

Posting after a very long time... :( ..Same excuse...got extremely busy with some projects...!!

For this DIY craft... no newspapers but TOILET PAPER ROLLS...

Collect as many rolls you can. The more you have the better.

So let's get started........

Cut the roll into 3 equal parts as shown below.

Glue the edges if they pop out....

Now start putting the pieces together (do not glue them) in any pattern or design you like...It can be a geometric pattern or an abstract one...!!...I decided on a flowery design... :) ... It's easy and you don't need to follow any specific thumb-rule for this... ;) ...

Once you have finalized on the arrangement of the pieces decide on the colours you would like to paint them with... It can be a black-white combination / red-green / blue-white or a "blast of colours". If you do not like combinations...go with a single colour. You can also try painting the inner side of the pieces with one colour and the outer with another....!!
I decided to go with the red-brown combination.

After you are done with the painting leave the pieces to dry for about 1 hour. Once dried glue them together as per your pattern that you had decided. Now leave your "Designer art piece" to dry for a good whole one day.
Once dried you can hang it on the wall as shown below...

.... :) .... Have fun...!!

Beads and chains come together

This time around I wanted to use loads of chains and fewer beads. After a lot of trials I came up with this design...And has become one of my favorites. This piece might look heavy because of all the chains hanging but on wearing you do not feel it at all...It's so light and the best thing about this is that it goes with most of my outfits...!!

Necklace...a beads and chains affair...!!

Yet another necklace...!!...made of beads and chains...

This time I never wanted to follow any systematic pattern nor sketch a design first... Was a bit lazy...With my laziness at it's peak I tried to make this piece...

...Think I can see the chunky, funky and off-course the lazy side of me in this piece...;)...

Wooden beaded necklace...

Last few weeks were really hectic...so could not find time to catch up with my blog...!!

While shopping for one of my interior projects I came across these beautiful wooden beads. I bought around 3 strands not knowing what to do with them. So, between my projects when I got some free time...I made this necklace...

A bit different from my necklace pieces made from bread... :) ...

Again...necklaces made from bread slices...

There are so many styles and techniques which I would like to incorporate in my jewelry making but TIME is a big constraint. Due to my interior projects I'm just not able to put in my 100% in my new found love "Jewelry making"...But never mind...I'll try and squeeze in some time to create something interesting...!!

So let me show you the necklace pieces I made this time.

I really enjoyed while creating this piece...

"Deed Table"

I was reading this book called "Just Junk" by Linda Barker and came across a beautiful piece of work done by her. So thought of sharing with you all....
I feel this piece is indeed very creative, thoughtfully done and the best thing is...it is so very simple to do and that too all by yourself...!!

Some more necklaces made from bread slices

Had some left over bread slices in my kitchen so thought of making some more necklaces...!!...

Will be back with some more... :) ...
