"New look to an old aluminium container..."

This aluminium container is an old one. I found it along with the trunk mentioned in my previous post (http://www.dianacrastainteriors.blogspot.in/2012/11/an-old-iron-trunk-gets-make-over.html).

So I started by putting metal primer first since it was a very old piece. And then painted it. Once the paint dried I decoupaged it with a sunflower cutting taken from a paper napkin sheet.

I left it to dry for about 2 hours and then spray painted it with a tooth-brush...

So once it's done you can use it the way you want to...Here I have used it as a flower vase!

The stool below is also an old wooden one...painted it to give a warm look...!!

Magazine stand/ stool/ container/ case...!!...as u take it... ;)

You can use it to stack your books or diaries!!

Have different ideas of using it...do share with me...!!

An old iron trunk gets a make-over...!!...

It was one of those lazy days when I just do not like going out anywhere or meet anyone except read some magazines and watch television. I saw some old magazines kept on my work table and thought of stacking them in the store room. I always keep the old magazines instead of getting rid of them because I know...someday I will need these...!! While stacking these magazines in the store room I saw this old trunk. I thought...why not give this trunk a nice makeover and keep it inside my room itself for storing magazines. And the idea clicked...!!

This trunk is about 30-35 years old...

Since it was a very old one I put metal primer first and then painted it.

Decoupaged it with some fresco painting pictures...!!

Some more fresco painting pictures...

The flowers and the vase are made of plastic water and cold drink bottles...!! If you liked these do go through my earlier post. And here is the link for the same... http://www.dianacrastainteriors.blogspot.in/2011_10_01_archive.html

Now it sits proudly in my room...!! Hope you all liked it...:)

"Office Interiors"

An office space of 600 sqft...13 workstations...3 cabins, maximum storage and a reception area...!!

These were the requirements of my client. Since the client was very particular about vastu, extra care was taken while designing the office interiors. The budget was also a major concern. So, on the whole this project was quite a challenging one for me. This office is for the company called "Squall Solutions Pvt. Ltd." which I recently completed.

Let me take you through some pictures of this office...

The cabins: Unlike other clients this client was very much particular on having see-through cabins. She wanted a view of every inch of the office from her cabin.

Reception area:

Storage cabinets:

Walk-way:

The artifacts displayed on the wall were bought by the client from Nigeria and requested me to use them in the interiors. There were two beams running across the office space which was not an appealing sight. So a false ceiling was designed in a way that the beams become a part of the design and also get hidden.

The 3 cabins:

Workstations:

The whole process of designing & execution took around one month. For any project to be a success the equation between the client & the designer matters a lot. This client was very co-operative and it was fun working together. This project will always be close to my heart...since it was a challenging one from every aspect and also may be because the client was just as amazing as the project...:)
